Example
A kiryana store scans a packet of biscuits and a bottle of oil, the total shows on screen, the customer pays part in cash and part by JazzCash, and the counter prints the bill.
How it works
In a Pakistani shop the POS is usually a computer or tablet at the counter, a barcode scanner and a small thermal printer, with the galla (cash box) under it. The software keeps the price list, works out the total, records how the bill was paid and takes the sold items out of stock. Because every bill is saved, the owner can see the day's sale, profit and cash in the drawer without adding up a register by hand.
A good POS also handles the things that happen at a busy counter: a customer who wants udhaar, a bill put on hold while someone fetches one more item, a return from yesterday, or a power cut in the middle of a sale.
In Nafaa
The Nafaa counter works fully from the keyboard: search, change quantity, add a customer, discount, hold and pay without the mouse, with a shortcut list on the ? key. Shops choose a layout (Classic, Express, Cart-focus or Touch), take split payments, put bills on khata and keep billing offline.
