Meaning
English
An offline POS keeps making bills when the internet is down, saving them on the device and sending them to the server when the connection returns.
Roman Urdu
Offline POS internet band hone par bhi bill banata rehta hai; bill device par save hote hain aur internet aane par server par chale jaate hain.
Also called offline billing, offline mode, POS without internet.
Example
During load-shedding the shop's router goes off but the counter laptop runs on battery. The cashier makes 35 bills offline; when the power returns, they upload and the owner's report catches up.
How it works
In Pakistan load-shedding and patchy internet are normal, so a counter that stops when the connection drops is a real cost. An offline POS keeps a copy of products, prices and customers on the counter device. Bills made offline are stored locally with their own numbers and synced later.
Some things depend on the server: stock levels across branches update only after sync, and actions that need a live check, such as confirming a customer's latest khata balance from another branch, may wait. Check what a system does offline before buying, and never log out of a counter with unsynced bills.
In Nafaa
The Nafaa counter keeps products, customers and settings on the device and saves offline bills, with a receipt, in a local queue that syncs when the internet returns. Logging out never discards unsynced bills.
