Example
A shoe chain sends 24 pairs of a slow style from its Saddar branch to its DHA branch, where the size sells better. The DHA manager confirms 23 pairs arrived and one carton was opened, so the shortage is recorded.
How it works
Moving stock between branches is normal, but it is a common place for stock to go missing. A transfer should have two steps: the sending branch records what left, and the receiving branch records what arrived. Anything not received is "on the way" until it is, and differences are shortages to investigate.
Treat transfers at cost, not selling price, since no sale happened. For items with batches, serials or IMEIs, the transfer must carry those details too, so the receiving branch can sell and warranty them correctly.
